Refund and Return Policy

Purpose and Scope

This Refund and Return Policy applies to all products sold by Geneva Scientific through our online store and direct purchase orders.
Because our products are specialized scientific and laboratory equipment all sales are considered final except in limited, manufacturer-approved cases as outlined below.

General Policy – All Sales Final

Most products sold by Geneva Scientific are non-returnable and non-refundable.
Orders are processed and fulfilled directly by our manufacturing partners. Once an order is confirmed, it cannot be modified or canceled, as production and shipment are often initiated immediately.

Exceptions may only be considered in cases of:

  • Manufacturer error
  • Defective merchandise verified by the manufacturer.

All exceptions are subject to manufacturer approval and may involve restocking or inspection fees.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Products

Customers are required to inspect all shipments promptly upon delivery.

If a shipment arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect:

  • Notify Geneva Scientific within 24 hours of delivery, with signed receiving inspection noting damage
  • Provide the order number, photos of packaging and product, and a detailed description of the issue.
  • We will coordinate with the manufacturer to determine eligibility for repair, replacement, or credit.

Failure to report within this timeframe may result in denial of a claim. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

Order Cancellations

Orders cannot be canceled after acceptance unless the Purchaser fully indemnifies Geneva Scientific for any incurred costs. A standard restocking fee may apply, if applicable.

Once an order has been submitted to and accepted by the manufacturer, it cannot be canceled. If cancellation is approved prior to production or shipment, the purchaser may be responsible for:

  • Manufacturer restocking fees, and/or
  • Costs associated with materials or administrative processing.

Delays in shipment or manufacturing do not constitute grounds for cancellation or claim.

Manufacturer Warranties

All warranties expressed remain between the Purchaser and the Manufacturer. Geneva Scientific will assist in facilitating service-related requests in a timely manner.

Most equipment is covered by the manufacturer’s standard warranty. Warranty claims must be directed to the manufacturer for service or replacement consideration. Geneva Scientific will support communication and coordination as needed but does not assume responsibility for warranty decisions, coverage, or timelines.

Refunds (If Approved)

In rare cases where a refund is authorized (e.g., confirmed manufacturer error), it will only be processed after:

  • The manufacturer confirms receipt and inspection of the returned product, and
  • Credit is issued to Geneva Scientific by the manufacturer.

Refunds will be applied to the original method of payment and may be reduced by any applicable restocking, inspection, or freight fees.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipping dates are approximate and contingent on Geneva Scientific receiving all required information promptly.

Geneva Scientific is not liable for damages resulting from delays or defaults in production or delivery caused by events beyond our control. While we make every effort to meet estimated delivery dates, delays do not constitute grounds for order cancellation or claims.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details and for receiving and inspecting the equipment upon arrival.

Customers are responsible for all shipping, insurance, and handling costs associated with any approved returns unless the return is due to verified manufacturer or shipping error. Unauthorized returns or shipments sent collect will not be accepted.

Liability

Geneva Scientific is not liable for consequential damages of any kind. The Purchaser assumes all liability for the use or misuse of the equipment by themselves, their employees, or others.

Geneva Scientific’s liability in all cases is limited to the value of the goods sold.

Legal Compliance

This policy complies with applicable U.S. federal and Wisconsin state laws.
Because Geneva Scientific primarily supplies institutional, laboratory, and research clients, most purchases are business-to-business transactions and therefore not subject to retail consumer refund or “cooling-off” laws.
